What We Do

Our Activities

From round-the-clock emergency nets to school outreach programmes — how NBARS serves the Dooars, Terai and Hills through amateur radio.

Emergency Response

24/7 Emergency Net

We keep a round-the-clock watch for disaster traffic. During floods, landslides and storms our operators pass health-and-welfare messages when phone and internet networks fail.

Training

Licensing Workshops

We coach aspiring hams for the ASOC examination — radio theory, regulations and Morse — and guide them through the WPC licensing process. Over 10 students trained so far.

Awareness

Awareness Workshops

We actively conduct HAM radio awareness workshops around North Bengal to aware people about it. We visit different summer camps and winter camps and organise POTA there, which help to grow HAM Radio interest among people.

Community Awareness Programme on Amateur Radio at Radio CoochBehar 89.6 FM

Team NBARS visited the studio of Radio Cooch Behar 89.6 FM at Panchanan Barma University, Cooch Behar - the first and only Community Radio run by a University in the region. We sincerely thank Team Radio Cooch Behar and our on-air host RJ Supradip for hosting the first-ever Community HAM awareness programme on air in North Bengal. Their tireless work, warm hospitality and genuine interest in promoting Amateur Radio made this historic collaboration a grand success.
